Women’s National Book Association: Members’ Noteworthy News

Rosalind Reisner (New York), Tabitha Whissemore (Washington, DC), and Linda Rosen (South Florida) had a great afternoon at George Mason University’s Fall for the Book literary event, October 13. We read from Women in the Literary Landscape (C&R Press), the centennial publication of the Women’s National Book Association.

From colonial times, women have been at the forefront of significant developments in the literary community and book world. Despite this important history, no single publication has provided an overview of women’s roles in writing, publishing, book selling, and librarianship until now with this ground-breaking narrative connecting women’s contributions in these fields with the social and cultural history of the United States. B. A. Shapiro announces the publication of her novel, The Collector’s Apprentice (Algonquin), another historical art thriller from the author of The Art Forger and The Muralist.  

 Garland Press has released Beth Castrodale‘s new novel, In This Ground. 

 Christine Lajewski announces the publication of her novel, Bonebelly. It is the tale of a condemned soul, hideously transformed, who becomes fascinated with the mock horror and actors at a local haunted attraction. Read more here about Christine’s life as a haunt actor.

 Forcing Change, the middle grades, historical fiction novel by Judy Lindquist, was recently awarded the 2018 James J Horgan Award for an outstanding publication that supports the study of Florida history and heritage, intended for younger readers. 

 Virginia Pye promotes Shelf Life of Happiness: 10/23 Porter Square Books; 10/25 Newtonville Books; 11/13 Belmont Books.
