Submit Your News! WNBA Members Only

Submit Your Member News!

WNBA Members, send us your news, and tell us what is going on in your lives!

You can share general news going on in your professional life, an upcoming or recent book release, a member advocacy story, or a member testimonial.

You can share your news in two different formats: text or video.

Text

Text submissions are accepted for all categories of news. Simply fill out the form near the bottom of this page.

Your news may be shared in The Bookwoman Newsletter. Occasionally, we share members’ news on our website and social media channels as well. We cannot guarantee your news will be shared, but we make every effort to do so. Please note that while we strive to share news soon after it is sent, due to volunteers’ schedules, it may take several months before your news is published.

Please also note that submissions may be edited.

Video

Video submissions are accepted for members’ books and member testimonials. To submit a video, create the video at home using your phone, camera, or a video chat software such as Zoom. Then, put the video file in a folder on either on Google Drive or Dropbox. Then, share the folder or email the link to the folder to Julie at newsletter [at] wnba-books.org.

Promotional Program

If you would like to publicize your book or book-related business (e.g., editing, design, writing, literary agency, bookstore, publishing house) on a larger scale, you can sign up for our promotional program.

Types of Member News

General News (100 words or less)

Share your new jobs, publications, events, awards, speaking engagements, and professional accomplishments. News can include a relevant link to an article, blog post, press release, video, landing page, or website.

✅ Kate Andrews (WNBA-Network) delivered the keynote address at the Best Books Ever Conference [https://bestbooksevercon.org] in Livre, Nebraska. She discussed the best books ever. Read her most recently published article in the January edition of All the Books magazine [https://allthebooks.co].

Book Release (100 words or less)

Please send us the title, release date, publisher, 13-digit ISBN (if you have it), and a brief description of the book. You may also include a link to the book’s page on your website.

Please, no book cover images. We are not able to use those.

✅ Mary Jones’s (WNBA-NYC) debut book, Hotel Chocolate, was published on March 2, 2021 by Candy Books. The middle grade novel follows two children on their quest to find a missing key and takes readers on a wild adventure that travels from the Gum Grocery to the Sprinkles Spa.

WNBA Member Testimony (500 words or less)

Tell us what your relationship with WNBA. Examples of things you can talk about include participating in a specific program, attending an event, forming relationships, learning a new skill, and developing personally or professionally.

✅ As the books pile up, they begin to taunt you: “Read me next. You are falling behind.”  I would shuffle the pile, putting the ones I thought I would like on top. Funny thing, as I read through the pile, the bottom ones became my favorites, probably because they were so different from my usual reads. By volunteering, I read books I never would have chosen. I have learned more about a greater diversity of people than when I started. My history knowledge has improved too.

[Real testimonial about being on the reading committee for Great Group Reads from Pat D’Innocenzo (WNBA-Greater Philadelphia.]
